That Exorcist Head-Spin

This has not been my favorite week ever. I've been grumpy and stressed. We've had to be somewhere every evening. School has been haphazard. My heart hurts for hurting teens. I spoke sternly to grown-ups because they irritated me. I've felt bossy and mean inside.

I missed my favorite TV shows. I spelled a word wrong on my Facebook status. We don't have any good snack food in the house.

I have felt my head spin around like that chick in The Exorcist way too many times this week.

But suddenly, it all just seemed to evaporate this evening. My friend Sheila, who knows me very well, sent me a "praying for you" text. And a prayer from her is goooood stuff. She made me laugh today, even though I was on the verge of tears. And tonight another friend made me laugh, and another. And then nothing even mattered anymore. I came home and couldn't even remember what I was all riled up about earlier; and when I did remember, I didn't care. (Well, except for the misspelling on my Facebook status. I actually do care about that.)

I have a quiet evening ahead. I have people who love me, in spite of myself and even when I'm feeling mean. And that's a really, really good thing.

  3. For some reason the title of this post caught my eye. The thought of your head spinning around like the chick on the Exorcist kinda creeped me out! We have all been there and numerous times I have felt that same feeling! It is such a comfort to have wonderful friends that love us in spite of the terrible moments we have. I truly hope you have a fabulous mother's day and enjoy some quiet moments just for yourself...but no head spinning!

  4. you spelled a word wrong on your facebook status??!! and obviously you didn't catch it in time to just delete and repost. that would bother me, too. never mind the other stuff. i bet you pretty much wanted to just delete your account and start over again under an assumed name. i think that's what i would do.

at least you didn't make a grammatical error. that would have been even worse.

so... how picky are you about fb friends? do you limit it to irl friends or will any old reader-of-your-blog do? because if i weren't afraid you'd think i was a stalker, i'd send you a friend request. i bet you are very entertaining.

  6. Happy Mother's Day! Put your feet up, and relax. We've all done the Exorcist head spin at one point or another. Just remember that God's peace is also your peace.

  7. hope this week is going better. I was so cranky Saturday I was irritating MYSELF. So I bought too many flowers Sunday and it snapped me right out of it. Mostly.
